WHHI FUNDING HELPS EXPAND SILOAM MISSION'S HOMELESSNESS SERVICES
People who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless will benefit from expanded downtown food and clothing services with the help of a $94,646 contribution from the Winnipeg Housing and Homelessness Initiative. The funding is provided to Siloam Mission under the Government of Canada's Supporting Communities Partnership Initiative (SCPI), through the National Homelessness Initiative.

WHHI FUNDS SPENCE NEIGHBOURHOOD HOUSING IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS
Residents and homeowners will soon benefit from the repair and revitalization of about 70 homes and housing units in the Spence neighbourhood with up to $536,000 from the Government of Canada, Province of Manitoba, and the City of Winnipeg through the Winnipeg Housing and Homelessness Initiative (WHHI). Funding is being provided to the Spence Neighbourhood Association, the Winnipeg Housing and Rehabilitation Corporation and Lazarus Housing.

WHHI CONTRIBUTES OVER $3.3 MILLION TO HELP FIGHT HOMELESSNESS IN WINNIPEG
Eleven local community groups will benefit from more than $3.3 million in funding through the Winnipeg Housing and Homelessness Initiative (WHHI) which will help provide emergency and transitional housing and increase programming and services for people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

WHHI FUNDS WEST BROADWAY NEIGHBOURHOOD HOUSING IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS
Residents and homeowners will soon benefit from the repair, revitalization and construction of homes and housing units in the West Broadway neighbourhood with the help of up to $430,000 from the Winnipeg Housing and Homelessness Initiative (WHHI). Funding is being provided to the West Broadway Development Corporation, Westminster Housing Society, the Winnipeg Housing Rehabilitation Corporation and the West Broadway Neighbourhood Resource Centre.

WHHI FUNDING WILL INCREASE COMMUNITY CAPACITY TO HELP HOMELESS PEOPLE
Six local community groups will receive over $1.1 million from the Government of Canada through the Winnipeg Housing and Homelessness Initiative (WHHI), to build a new Aboriginal transition centre, develop comprehensive proposals and expand existing programs to continue responding to the needs of Winnipeg's homeless people, or those at risk of becoming homeless.

WHHI HELPS FUND INNER CITY AFFORDABLE HOUSING RENOVATION PROJECT
Renovations to a boarded-up apartment block in the Spence neighbourhood will soon provide 23 units of improved and affordable housing for low-income families wanting to live in the inner city. The project is being undertaken by Kinkora Developments Limited and is being made possible with the help of up to $413,360 in funding from the Winnipeg Housing and Homelessness Initiative (WHHI).

EXPANDED INNER-CITY SHELTER WILL OFFER MORE PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH AT-RISK
An inner-city shelter has launched a renovation and expansion project that will provide better programs and services and improved accommodations for at-risk youth needing a safe place to stay. The project at Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad Inc. is being made possible by a $790,000 contribution from the Winnipeg Housing and Homelessness Initiative (WHHI), which is funded by the governments of Canada and Manitoba and the City of Winnipeg.

NEW AFFORDABLE, ENERGY-EFFICIENT HOMES OPENED IN NORTH END
Four new affordable, energy-efficient homes featuring geothermal heating were opened today in the Lord Selkirk neighbourhood, providing more housing options for low and moderate income families. The Salvation Army has begun extensive renovations to two sites that will provide secure, emergency or transitional supportive housing and programming for people at risk of being homeless in Winnipeg. The projects are being made possible with the help of a contribution of approximately $2.9 million from the Winnipeg Housing and Homelessness Initiative (WHHI).

Youth who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless will benefit from additional transitional housing and support programs, with the help of funding for Operation Go Home from the Government of Canada, the Province of Manitoba and the City of Winnipeg. The support of up to $383,000 is being provided through the Winnipeg Housing and Homelessness Initiative (WHHI).
